Closing an interview is like a first meeting with a mentor: If the conversation feels inspiring and valuable, you express gratitude and interest in continuing the relationship. You also ensuring your intentions clearly and you don't leave the
person wondering about your interest.
Here are some key points on how to wrap up an interview when you're excited about the role:
Express Your Enjoyment of the Conversation: Share specific aspects of the conversation you found engaging and how they reinforce your interest in the role.
Highlight Your Fit: Emphasize why you believe you’d be a valuable asset to the team and organization.
Mitigate Concerns: Ask, “Is there anything I haven’t addressed that might impact my candidacy?” Being proactive shows confidence and commitment to clarity.
Ask About Next Steps: Gain clarity on the process moving forward so you’re prepared for what’s next.
Here's an example of how to conclude:
"I've really enjoyed our conversation and appreciate how [mention qualities you appreciated about them]. I feel my experience with [mention relevant skills or achievements] aligns well with this role, and I’m excited about the potential to contribute. Is there anything I haven’t covered that you’d like to discuss further?
If they share any concerns, take the time to provide additional information or clarity. If not, wrap up with a forward-looking question: "What are the next steps in the process?" - Understanding the timeline and the subsequent stages is key to managing expectations.

I hope this helps!
